４０Creation Science

 What do you believe?

The atheistic theory of evolution or the biblical account of Creation?

Is the world 10,000 years old or ４.５ billion years old?

Is there evidence for creation?

Many people think the Bible is unscientific but what if so called modern science is wrong about the theory of evolution?

This is a very important topic and one that sometimes comes up when talking to a non-Christian or even with a Christian that just has never dug into the facts and thinks that we have to just take everything by blind faith.

Let's start with the

1.  Problems with the theory of evolution.

Darwin's theory basically says that all of the animals and plants that exist today all evolved from simple forms of life over billions of years.

    A. 2^nd Law of Thermodynamics -  This theory directly contradicts a scientific law...the 2^nd    law of thermodynamics ….that says all of nature is breaking down and becoming less     perfect....not getting better and more complex as evolution promotes. If an unproven theory    contradicts a law of science, which should we trust?

     B. Mutations - This theory says that simple forms of life evolve by random mutations...the     only problem is that mutations are glitches in the DNA replication process and usually      produce handicaps or setbacks in development...not new information that would produce a slightly improved animal.

    C.  The fossil record... where are all the fossils of animals in the in-between stage?  There    should a large number of fossils that show animals in the transitional stage but there are not.

         1. Scam fossils – Piltdown man 1912-1953 (used a medieval human cranium and a      modern orangutan jaw to try to make a fossil that was part ape, part human) ,             Nebraska man 1917 (supposed to be an early human ancestor, fossil based on a         single     tooth that ended up being from a pig) Ida 2009 (large money was given to          promote this as a human ancestor but it was actually just a lemur)

         2. Living fossils -  Animals that were supposed to have gone extinct millions of years       ago have been found disrupting the “evolutionary tree”

         3. Many fossil burial grounds show evidence of flooding – Noah's flood.

     D. The Cambrian explosion – a time in the secular evolutionary timeline when there was   an explosion of animal life/fossils. This points to a time of creation and to Noah's flood...both   events of which secular scientists deny. If gradual evolution was true there should be more of an even distribution of fossils, not a high concentration of fossils.

     E. Irreducible complexity -  Molecular machines and complex organs require all     components to function so it is unlikely they could have survived when only partially      “evolved”

2.  Biological life is too complex and delicate to have evolved.

One of the main problems evolutionists have is that they say that animals and plants evolved needed organs or tools they needed to survive little by little by random chance. They would say that over millions of years a land animal would gradually grow longer and longer wings until it could fly.

But what about the in between stage?

A half bird, half lizard with floppy wings would have a hard time going in its hole and also would not be able to fly yet. It would be easy prey for predators. Also  according to the 2^nd law of thermodynamics...each mutation would make the wings smaller or weaker and less likely to produce flight...another big problem.

The universe is so complex, so intricate and so delicately balanced, it would be impossible to gradually come to this point. It must have started all at once and then been maintained by the will of God.

    A.   Take the air we breathe. It is 79% nitrogen and 21% oxygen. A perfect blend for us to breathe. If it was 50/50 it would be nitric oxide and we would be poisoned. If the nitrogen was 65% it would be like laughing gas. If there was too much nitrogen our organs would shut down, if there was too much oxygen, the world would catch on fire.

Animals and humans would not have survived in the time it took to get to the perfect mixture of air....so it had to be perfect from the very first.

    B.     Another great example that evolution is impossible is the honeybee.

A honeybee stays busy going in and out of flowers and is vital to the pollination of many plants. But in some of those flowers, there is so much pollen that the honeybee cannot breathe while in the flower. Its lungs fill up with pollen and it stops breathing. But God designed some special brushes on the bee's knees that is uses to clean itself off so it can breathe again. If the very first bee went into a flower and stopped breathing and evolution had not had the time to grow some brushes, that first bee would have suffocated and there would be no bees today. God created the bee just the way it is today.

3.  The origin of life – Completely impossible without a Creator

What do you have to have to transition from a non-living cell to a living cell?

Well you have to have amino acids...

  which help build proteins...

     which help build cells.

The only problem is....

There are 80 different kinds of amino acids   

You have to link the right kind of amino acids in the right order...

There are left-handed and right-handed amino acids.

100 amino acids have to be put together in the right pattern to make ONE protein molecule

Then you have to get 200 protein molecules by that same process that have the right functions to create one functioning cell.

Each cell in the human body contains the same information as 30 encyclopedias ...there are 37 trillion cells in our body.

Life originating on its own by random chance mathematically speaking completely implausible.

Evolutionist have just about given up on trying to explain the origin of life. Their theories have all been proven false. Their experiments have failed. They don't really have any answers.

But we do.

Gen 1:1  In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth

Gen 1:2  And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. 

Only the Spirit of God can bring life. He is the author of life. Physical life and spiritual life!

Gen 1:27  So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. 

Gen 2:7  And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into

 his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. 

Man is not a highly evolved animal. He is a spiritual being. Only humans build churches, temples and have religion. Animals have instinct...humans have a conscience. Man was made in the image of God and so once we have our sins forgiven by the blood of Jesus, we can have wonderful communion with God!

4. How can we prove Creation is true?

To be perfectly honest...evolutionists cannot prove that their theory is true... and Christians cannot give perfect physical proof that Creation happened because....no one was alive when God created the world...their were no eyewitnesses.

But Christians do have something that the evolutionist don't. A book with the account of Creation!

Let's look first at the Bible to see if it can be trusted as a scientific book.

Here are some statements about the universe made in the Bible.          

RAY COMFORT and JOE CREWS

    A.       Job 26:7     He....hangeth the earth upon nothing. 

For thousands of years until just a few hundred years ago. People thought the earth was sitting on something. Some people said it was on the back of a really big animal. But this statement in Job was written 3500 years ago....and was finally proven right.

    B. Isaiah 40:2    It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth

Again until the days of Christopher Columbus, about 500 years ago, people thought the earth was flat. But 2700 years ago Isaiah calls the earth a circle....

    C. Psalm 8:8.....the paths of the seas. 

Matthew Maury, the father of oceanography, noticed this verse and began to study the oceans that most people thought were just masses of water. And he discovered “paths in the sea” ocean currents that were before unknown.

The Bible is reliable as God's Word...we can trust what it says concerning spiritual matters and matters of science.
