22. Second Coming, Resurrection, Judgment
(BMC Manual) Rapture and Second Coming
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ will come again. We believe that His coming will be literal and bodily, and we who are alive at His coming shall not precede them who are asleep in Christ Jesus; but if we are abiding in Him, we shall be caught up with the risen saints to meet the Lord in the air so that we shall ever be with the Lord. We believe that the coming of Christ will be premillennial, and we should distinguish between His coming for His saints (I Thessalonians 4:13-18) and with His saints (Jude 14). The latter will not occur until after the manifestation of the Antichrist and the Great Tribulation (II Thessalonians 2:7-11; Revelation 19:20). The one hope of the church is the premillennial coming of Jesus (Acts 15:13-17; Titus 2:13).
Resurrection, Judgment and Destiny
We believe in the resurrection of the dead, that the bodies both of the just and of the unjust shall be raised to live and unite with their spirits. “. . . they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil unto the resurrection of damnation” (John 5:29; I Corinthians 15:52; Philippians 3:21; I Thessalonians 4:15-16). We believe in future judgment in which every man shall appear before God to be judged according to his deeds in this life (II Corinthians 5:10). We believe that glorious and everlasting life is assured to all who savingly believe in and obediently follow Jesus Christ our Lord and that the finally impenitent shall suffer eternally in hell (Matthew 5:29, 6:20, 10:28, 23:33, 25:41; Luke 16:23; John 6:39).
1. The Rapture of the Church (Pre-Trib Event, Revelation 3:10 )
Jesus comes for His saints, not with His saints. This is the Rapture, not the Second Coming.
No man knows when this is, but it is the next event on the prophetic timeline!
Jesus comes back and all believers meet Him in the air.
Jesus Himself will descend with a shout and 1 Thessalonians 4:13–18
the shout of the arch-angel,the dead in Christ will rise first
Trumpet will sound, happens in the twinkling of an eye, 1 Corinthians 15:51–53
we will be changed, we will have a new body.

4. The Marriage of the Lamb (in Heaven)

6 . Millennial Reign of Christ

7. The Final Rebellion and Defeat of Satan

What happens after death?
For Christians
and non-Christians the physical body decays and turns back into dust. Genesis 3:19

Resurrection
• The non-Christian's body will be resurected & judged by God John 5:25-29

• Those who have died in Christ and those who are alive in Christ I Cor 15:51-53
will receive a new body at the Rapture. I Thess 4:15-17
• The saints who die in the Tribulation (at least 144,000 Jews) will be Revelation 20:4-6 resurrected later during the Second Coming.
